Homelessness is a growing problem around the UK, especially in Cardiff, with the number of rough sleepers doubling in 2017. Give DIFFerently is a newly launched fundraising campaign that unites homeless charities already established across Cardiff.
Give DIFFerently provides an opportunity to think differently about how people can donate to the homeless to help make a difference. Most importantly, by giving through technology the charities who distribute the money can ensure it goes towards helping people stay off the streets for good.
Commuting via the Hayes this morning? Then whizz past our wall and donate £2 to help #Cardiff's #homeless with the tap of a card #MondayMotivaton pic.twitter.com/rqjqHphUyM— GiveDIFFerently (@GiveDIFFerently) March 26, 2018
Cowshed Communications, who have managed the campaign, invited us to be involved and to lead on the creative direction. We jumped at the chance to be involved in such an important and meaningful campaign.
The project has involved designing and installing a contactless pay point on the high street in Cardiff City Centre. For every tap at the contactless pay point, £2 will be put towards small grants for those who are currently experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. You can also donate by texting DIFF20 followed by the amount you want to donate to 70070.
